There are frequent buses going to every part of the island and also taxis.
During the summer, buses leave Fira's central station every hour for Akrotiri and every 30 min for Oia, Monolithos, Kamari and Perissa.
The buses leave Fira, Kamari and Perissa for Athinios Port 1 ½ hours before most ferry departures.
The one for Fira leaves from Athinios Port after every ferry arrival, even late at night.
Taxi service (tel: 2860 22555)
There are also many taxis available in Santorini. The central taxi station is located on the main road of Santorini next to the bus central station.
Nevertheless, a car or a motorbike is the best way to see the island. The roads are pretty good, but you must be careful because lots of people have accidents with those rented bikes during the summer. |
