I wanted to warn you of a very bad jeweler in Fira Santorini who has really marked my stay there in a very negative way. He works in the tourist shop area in a shop named "Golden Odyssey". Please warn all of your future tourist that this shop tells you one thing and then when the customer is not looking gives you something else.

I paid for an 18 karat bracelet but the shop owner gave me a 14 karat bracelet. He even when so far as to show me he was putting my receipt in the jewelry bag but later it was not there. He said 18 karat while on the receipt he wrote a very funny 14 karat. I realized before I left Fira but we were in a hurry to make the ferry and I was only able to check this out once I reached Athens. Once I reached Athens I brought the bracelet to another jeweler who weighed it and said there was no way that what I got was 18 karat.

I called my credit card company who asked I try and work it out with the shop first. I called the shop keeper who was very rude over the phone and would not decrease the price to what a 14 karat should cost. Ultimately I have paid 450.00 dollars too much and I have put a hold on my credit card. I have little recourse with the jeweler. Really I am so discouraged with this man's poor work ethic!!!
