Perissa Beach on Santorini Greece
|
Perissa
Santorini: Perissa is situated 15 km south-east of Fira. You will find a very touristy but amazing endless black sandy beach with an enormous rock called Mesa Vouno rising from the sea. It creates an impressive landscape, especially at night when the rock is lighted.
The village, abandoned during the winter, offers lot of rooms, restaurant and bars.
The buildings are newly built and it causes the town to seem very different from the traditional buildings on the cliffs.
A small path across the mountains leads up to the ruins of Ancient Thera. For that excursion, you can always make the ride with a donkey.
You can also visit the chapel of Agia Irena from the16th-17th century.
